Day 12 - Grand Canyon

Today, we headed to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. On the way, we stopped at Kanab which is a town where western movies were filmed in the 20's thru the 80's.  Then on to the Gand Canyon where we first had lunch. We quickly took a hike to Bright Angel Point. I say quickly because bad weather was moving in. I had to make the return trip with my lightning rod, aka umbrella, because it started raining. After leaving the canyon, we traveled through the Vermillion Cliffs with a stop at the Marble Canyon Visitors Center with a walk over the old bridge at the Colorado River.

This is on the road leading away from our hotel.  The fool, I mean the brave man, who climbed to the top is our bus driver, Ken.

Here is the house used in the movie The Outlaw Josey Wells, starring Clint Eastwood.

Time to enter the next state!

This is taken from the bus on the road to the Grand Canyon. The white stuff is hail that came down today. There was lots of the stuff all over the park.

One of many awesome pics of the north rim of the Grand Canyon. You can see the clouds moving in.

Another view from the north rim.

Wayne took this picture while walking on the bridge which spans the Colorado River.  That's our bus and some of our fellow travelers.

This is the Colorado River. This is still the Grand Canyon, but it is north of the actual National Park area.

This is taken from the same spot, looking in a different direction.
