Day 9 - Salt Lake City

Our bus driver took us around the Mormon complex when we arrived in Salt Lake City. Their Temple and grounds (gardens) are stunning. We attended the Mormon Tabernacle Choir broadcast, which takes place every Sunday morning.  This takes place in the Tabernacle.  Non-Mormons are never allowed in the Temple. Then, we went to Park City where the Sundance Film Festival is held.  Lots of restaurants and stores.  Kinda pricey. We then visited Olympic Park, home of the 2002 winter olympics.  Shortly after getting back to the hotel, Monica and Jeremy picked us up for a nice visit.

This is the Mormon Tabernacle Choir practicing before the performance. They have 200 members and are absolutely beautiful.

This is called the Meeting House. It was originally a church, built with leftover granite from the Temple.

This is a side view of the Temple.

The Olympic Park is used for training and fun. Groups pay to run the bob sled down. It's on wheels for summer fun.

These kids train for the ski jump by landing in a swimming pool with air pumped in to help them see the water level for their landings.

Here's Monica and Jeremy bringing us to our hotel.  We had a great time visiting their new house, eating at a great Mexican restaurant, and driving to a great overlook of the city.
